In late 2022 ALLBIDS hosted an estate auction for a well-known Yarralumla family. The auction featured impressive collection of art, antiques, decorative arts, fashion, and luxury jewellery – a lifetime of collecting from countries such as Morocco, Mongolia and Southeast Asia. Specialist knowledge from multiple departments was required while cataloguing this estate. With such a broad and varied range of items from across the globe, meticulous research and consultation with the executors was undertaken to correctly describe this unique collection.
The first session included hundreds of items of luxury jewellery, gemstones and watches. ALLBIDS’s in-house jeweller worked alongside the photographers to ensure the intricate detail of each piece was captured. A stunning set of emerald earrings and matching pendant sold for $9,610 and an impressive thirty-one pearl necklace sold for $7,210.
The second session included artwork, decorative arts, antiques, furniture, and vintage, collected from across the world. A highpoint of the auction was a beautiful pastoral scene by the artist Hans Heysen which sold for $11,050. Another standout was Victorian giltwood mirror which sold for $1,511.
