The Ford MUTT was the successor to the Korean War M38 and M38A1 Jeep Utility Vehicles. First put into service in the early 1960s, the M151 played an active part in American military operations well into the 1980s, when it was phased out in favor of the HMMWV (Humvee). Despite its official replacement, the M151 had some distinct advantages over its much larger and heavier successor, like being small enough to fit inside a heavy transport helicopter.

The M151A1 was notorious for poor handling and incidents of roll-over, this was eventually resolved with the re-design of the rear suspension and was introduced into the M151A2. No expense has been spared in the restoration of this example of a Ford M151A2 MUTT that saw active service in Vietnam and when abandoned by US Forces, was used for domestic purposes in Vietnam up until around 2013/2014. This vehicle is the pride and joy of the current owner, who is seeking to re-home this truck to an equally passionate military vehicle enthusiast or collector.
