Storage Showdown offers a unique opportunity to grab a bargain and find hidden treasure.
There are many reasons why storage units might be abandoned.
Sometimes the owner might have moved interstate or overseas, other times the rent has simply stopped being paid. In the latter case, Storage Unit operators make every effort to contact the owner and give them a chance to retrieve their goods, but it doesn’t always work out.
Whatever the reason: they all lead to the same conclusion. The unit needs to be rented and all the goods cleared out. Previously, this would mean everything being sent to the tip, which was costly and wasteful.
In response to this, ALLBIDS developed Storage Showdown – a unique promotion which provides an environmentally sustainable solution for the storage company, and the chance of a bargain – and maybe even hidden treasure to the successful buyer.
There are a few differences to our normal auctions, so please read the precise terms and conditions of each listing, but in general:
- You may inspect the unit, but you will not necessarily be allowed
inside to check every item. There is a role for skill, experience, gut
instinct and luck! - You will need to remove every item from the unit, not just the ones you feel are of value.
- Any personal documents must legally be returned to the Storage Unit
operator, who will either return them to the owner or dispose of them
appropriately. - If you have a great win, you must promote Storage Showdown via
social media and in all other ways to your friends and acquaintances.
