Charity Auction: Buoyed Up – ALLBIDS Blog

This week, we are supporting a charity auction for Bouyed Up. This is a special sailing program to provide vulnerable young people with a unique, confidence building experience. Managed by Communities@Work, Buoyed Up has been developed with the support of the Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation and Yachting Australia and will be facilitated by the Canberra Yacht Club.
The Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation is inspired by the Glasgow-born entrepreneur and five-time America’s Cup challenger, Sir Thomas Lipton (1848-1931). Yes, he is also the man who first brought us Lipton tea, a delight still savoured by many over a century later. Add to that the volunteer work of sailing greats and local identities who contribute in any number of ways.
This allows Bouyed Up to focus on their core work of helping their charges to learn new skills, develop resilience, work in a team and build their self-esteem.
